X475 14 Wt Reel and Accessories

The X475 14 Wt. is currently our largest of the Intercoastal Series. If your going for Billfish or very large Tarpon this is the reel that will bring them in. Its full contact double disk drag can really take a beating. As in all our Intercoastal Series Reels, the X475 comes in Direct Drive or Anti Reverse. We have done something different to this series though; because of its size, it makes a perfect Spey Reel. To facilitate this we have added a Spey model which is fitted with a feather light drag as opposed to the heavy duty Billfish type that is on the standard 14 Wt. The Spey Drag is lighter and more delicate for use on Salmon or Steelhead or Stripers. Now, as an added bonus you can take any of these two reels and simply purchase a conversion kit and change over to the other model (14 Wt. or Spey) at a fraction of the cost of having to buy two reels. That's the advantage of the convertability of the Gilmore Reel System - economic and versitile!!

Conversion Kits

The Direct Drive Kit changes your Anti-Reverse Model Reel to the Direct Drive. The Anti-Reverse Kit changes your Direct Drive Model Reel to the Anti-reverse. The Spey Kit changes the Direct Drive heavy duty 14 Wt. drag to a lighter duty drag system for Salmon, Steelhead, Strippers, etc.

Spare Spool (Standard Arbor or Spey)

Please chose below whether you want a Standard Spool or our Spey Spool which has a lighter duty drag surface. The X475 Spare Spool only comes in a standard arbor size. Large arbor sizes are not required for the X475. Because it it a Big Game or Spey reel, the spool needs all the backing capacity it can.
